Dr. Adelaide (Heidi) Priester received her doctorate degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri and maintains active memberships in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Osteopathic Association.
Dr. Priester is a board-certified refractive surgeon and specializes in treatment of the aging eye, including cataract and eyelid surgeries.
She has served as the ophthalmology clinical supervisor at Oklahoma State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has also served the college as an adjunct lecturer.
Dr. Priester was Summit and VISX trained in 1996 for PRK and PTK and Intralase trained 2008. She is also trained and experienced in the use of Lasersight and Alcon LADARVision Excimer lasers for LASIK.
Dr. Priester has been a leader in refractive surgery, performing some of the earliest PRK and LASIK procedures and leading the way as technology advanced. Once again, she has expanded her services, with training and certification for the Visian Toric ICL. Dr. Priester has been performing standard ICL surgery for many years, but recent approvals for the toric ICL now include a solution for patients with moderate to high levels of myopia and astigmatism that gained FDA approval in November of 2018. She was the first surgeon in Tulsa to implant the Toric ICL.
