What is your name, and when did you get LASIK?
My name is Matthew Morgan, and I had LASIK at nJoy Vision in July 2024.
What is your profession, and what role does vision play in your job and/or day-to-day life?
I am a CPO and technician for Dr. Bintz and Dr. Ellis at Vision Source Elk City, so, as you can imagine, vision is quite important around the office. Having great vision gives me the chance to help others improve their own.

How long had you been considering LASIK, and why did you decide to do it now?
I had not been considering LASIK for all that long. But, once I decided to explore the possibility and found out I was a candidate, I was able to coordinate and schedule it all in a matter of days.
Are you satisfied with the results of your LASIK procedure?
I am very satisfied with my vision after LASIK and can see better now than I ever could with my glasses!

The consultation was quick and easy, and the procedure preparations were very comfortable and reassuring. My LASIK surgeon talked me through the procedure while the numbing eye drops took effect. The LASIK procedure itself lasted only a matter of minutes.
The next day I drove to work to do my follow-up with my own doctors and was already seeing great.

Tell us about the first time you realized you had bad vision.
I first noticed my vision wasn’t great when I was in grade school. Even though my vision has never been the worst, I’ve been wearing glasses for a long time.
How did your vision impact your life as a child, as a teenager, and as an adult?
Wearing glasses as a kid always creates difficulties, especially when it comes to playing sports and dealing with broken glasses. As an adult, broken glasses aren’t usually an issue, but dealing with computer glare and switching to prescription sunglasses outside is a huge annoyance.
What was your least favorite thing about wearing glasses and contact lenses?
Contact lenses were always dry and uncomfortable for me and never provided the same level of vision correction as glasses. On the other hand, my least favorite things about glasses were constantly cleaning smudges and having to find them in the morning when I woke up.
What are you most looking forward to doing or experiencing without glasses or contacts?
Swimming and going out will be nice without the hassle of getting my glasses wet or dealing with blurry vision.
