As shared in The Wall Street Journal, 26-year-old Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel announced the social app’s newest breakthrough. Known mostly for its hilarious filters, disappearing content, and haunting logo, the young entrepreneur decided to take Snapchat Inc. one step further.

While many would consider Google Glass a complete flop, Spiegel hopes to revolutionize the technologically advanced eyeglass world. This new creation is simply called “Spectacles.” In the form of sunglasses with two cameras on either side of the frames, the goal is to capture real moments in short, ten-second timeframes from a first-person perspective. According to Snap Inc.’s blog, Spectacles connect directly to Snapchat via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and transfer your Memories directly into the app in a brand new circular video format.
“I could see my own memory, through my own eyes—it was unbelievable,” Spiegel said about first testing the product. “It’s one thing to see images of an experience you had, but it’s another thing to have an experience of the experience. It was the closest I’d ever come to feeling like I was there again.”
