Our readers might remember, just a couple of weeks ago, we featured the eye glasses company Oh My Glasses (OMG) in a post. They are the company that has developed the really cool “type face” inspired glasses. We spent some time talking about their latest designs and admitting that their creativity even inspired us, a company famous for ridding our patients of the need for glasses.
Well, OMG is back in the news, and this time they are turning their creative energy to philanthropy.
The OMG Founder and Creative Director, Bill Gerber, teamed up with New Eyes, a non-profit organization focused on providing prescription eyeglasses to the poor, to put on a benefit concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. The benefit was called Eye Rock and was part of the larger International Vision Expo East, taking place in NYC.
The featured bands were comprised of men and women in the optical industry, and the show was headlined by 90s folk rocker, Lisa Loeb. We highly recommend spending some time reading up on the great work that New Eyes for the Needy is doing around the world. While you’re there, you can read up on the Eye Rock Event and even donate to their cause!
